When Germain was only 4, he had never been to a ballet before, but demonstrated a strong desire to take ballet classes and even asked parents to take him to a dance school. Since the age of 7, Germain started his ballet training at the Chalon-sur-Saône Regional Conservatory where his natural talent was noticed by teachers, and he was advised to enter the Ballet School of the Opéra national de Paris. He successfully passed the entry examination and at the age of 12 was enrolled in one of the most prestigious ballet schools in France. Germain brilliantly mastered basics of French classical dance and at the age of 18 joined the Paris Opera Ballet.
While training and performing corps de ballet roles, the young man polished his technique and steadily refined his repertoire. In 2014 was promoted to Coryphée and in 2016 was officially promoted to Étoile of the Paris Opera Ballet after his brilliant perfomance as Prince Siegfried in Swan lake by Rudolf Nureyev. This became a sensation: étoile of one of the most renowned ballet companies in the world is 23 years old — extraordinary event.
Today his repertoire includes many roles in neoclassical ballets such as Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet, Sonatine by George Balanchine, Romeo and Juliette and Nutcracker by Rudolf Nureyev, The Goldberg Variations by Jerome Robbins, Andre Auria by David Lang and many others.
